Best New Farm coffee

In short, the best new farm coffee is called Bellcaffe, and is an exclusive Italian espresso coffee available in Brisbane.
But what makes a good coffee in New farm Queensland? is it the coffee beans? blend? or barista?. The answer is all of them! From the crop to the blending, to the roasting, to the grinding, to the extraction and all the way to the cup are all critical points in the workflow of providing quality coffee to you customers. So the question i propose is, why then would you not want to choose the very best of those critical points for your cafe of which you cannot control?
Assuming that your New Farm cafe buys roasted coffee beans, the bean selection, blending and roasting which provides your raw material is out of your business's control. It then makes perfect sense to choose this important raw material wisely and then focus on the processes in your business of which you can control.
Lets take a closer look at this important raw material.
Espresso coffee is an Italian phrase meaning a type of method of coffee making. Given that all coffee shops in Brisbane and Australia have espresso coffee machines it is pretty obvious that Italian espresso coffee beans should be used in the process.
But there are local 'espresso coffee' Australian roasters that provide the same product for a cheaper price, why would you not partner with them?
The difference with genuine Italian espresso coffee compared to Australian roasters is easily demonstrable on your next holiday in Roma, Florence or Milan. Try a short black in Florence and then when you return compare it to one in the Brisbane Valley.
The genuine Italian espresso coffee beans are selected from around the world and a minimum of seven (7) different beans are used in a real Italian espresso blend giving its flavour profile richness and complexity. Not only that, the point of difference with genuine Italian espresso coffee beans are that after roasting the beans are left to 'age' and mature under controlled conditions much like quality wine for at least 4 weeks. This aging process is very important for the chemistry of the flavonoids and oils to penetrate through the entire bean and develop its flavours.
Compare this to the local Australian roaster, where 1 or 3 beans are selected, blended, roasted, bagged, sold and pushed out the door all on the same day while still hot in the bag. This whole process is rushed and marketed as 'freshness'. Where in reality the majority of the degradation of flavour, is lost at the green bean stage and for Australian roasters green beans travel in a hot steel container to the country which negates their argument against imported Italian espresso coffee.

In the past 20 to 30 years in Brisbane and even in greater Australia there was a trend to move away from genuine Italian espresso coffee and start up locally roasted imitated 'Italian espresso' coffee. The main reason was not to improve taste or quality of the beans but quite simply to improve their profit margins.
